Lead Trainer Colin
Colin has always had rescue dogs and cats, and has harboured a dream of working with animals for many years. This was further enflamed by the number of dogs he saw surrendered or abandoned during lockdown. Also noticing while walking his own dog, Benji, how many dogs he now encountered that were nervous or reactive, he decided that supporting people to live their best life with their dogs would be a hugely rewarding vocation. This led to him beginning to take courses last year in dog training and socialisation. Soon after, on one fateful night on a dark field in Stony Stratford, he bumped into Laura leading a walk and was impressed by the holistic, professional, and caring approach that PupClub offered to its clients. Following this he has enjoyed the wonderful opportunity to continue to develop his expertise and knowledge alongside Dan, Kira and the rest of the team as a trainer. He also feels fortunate to have been welcomed into a wonderful community of people who love their dogs.
Head Trainer Dan
Dan has always had a passion for dogs, caring and loving them, even the ones who didn't belong to him. When he finally got some pups himself, he saw the gaps in the dog world and knew there was a way to enhance the dogs' lives. Giving his dogs the opportunity to make some great friends, he socialised them on a regular basis. In doing so, he saw just how many reactive dogs there are out there! This is when he came up with the idea of PupClub to continuously guide dogs on how to socialise properly. He is now currently gaining his level 6 Behaviourist qualification to work with vets and also accredit his own courses to train trainers. With this training he plans to build on PupClub to offer new classes and more availability for dogs than there ever was before, and once the PupClub local mission has been completed he'll be using these skills to build his own rescue centre and sanctuary.
Lead Trainer Kira
After meeting Dan, Kira began joining classes at PupClub with her 5 year old Sprollie, to begin building up her dog’s confidence after lockdown. After enjoying the training sessions so much with her own dog, Kira began to help out within the team. Kira has passion not only in dog training, but showing as well. She is working towards qualifying her Rottweiler for Crufts. Kira has grown up around dogs, and has experience with giant breeds of dogs. Kira’s love for dog training continues to grow, and she loves working on a 1:1 basis. The reward in helping to change a dog’s life is extremely rewarding and Kira loves being a part of those journeys. Kira works not only on 1:1 basis for general obedience, but behavioural cases too, helping dogs with reactivity become more confident in environments with heavy distractions. Kira is now one of our lead trainers and is helping to train a new generation of PupClub trainees

We have just completed our first few months with Dan and the team at Pup Club. Our 6-month-old Basset Hound (Macie) has... thoroughly enjoyed socialising with all the other dogs. As well as the socialisation classes and walks, we have had one-to-one classes with Dan and Kira, and Macie has completed her level 1 training (not easy given that Basset’s are notoriously difficult to train). The advice we have received from Dan, Kira, Colin and Taygen has been invaluable. I joined in Feb to get my 1 year old Staffie some obedience training and signed up to the 28 day bootcamp. Due to his... very high level of excitement and fixation issues , we scheduled in some 121s. Kira has done the most amazing job with Rocco.We can now start to enjoy walks, stop him from jumping up at people or whenever anyone comes to visit. The techniques that I have learnt and how to control Rocco has been an absolute game changer for me and I am actually starting to enjoy him.so much more. Dan has been instrumental in building my confidence handling our golden retriever who has proven to be a different... challenge to other dogs and retrievers we have owned. We took our mad, then 5 month old old english sheepdog to The Pup Club for level 1 training. Dan and the team are... brilliant. I really recommend. We took Buddy away to Somerset at the weekend and all the shop owners in Minehead said ' isn't he well trained '. We didn't realise how much he has actually taken in as still can be super exited 😊. I have never used a trainer before but when we got our Cavapoo puppy we wanted to get it right from the start. Choosing... a trainer was quite difficult. How do we know if we are making the right choice? My son found PupClub and made an appointment with Dan. We paid for a one off meeting to make sure we liked Dan and what he did with Ella. The results were immediate. I think I spent the whole hour with my mouth wide open in amazement. I called him the Dog Whisperer and that truly is what Dan is. Dan and his team organise many activities for dogs of all ages as well as a fantastic App where we can watch his training videos to remind ourselves on how to train her to do various things. She’s a different puppy. Sadly she was attacked on her first walk and badly traumatised. Thanks to Dan and his great team, Ella has been able to gain confidence around other dogs. We still have some work to do but we are so happy with everything Dan has done we are booking a second block of five - one to one appointments to help us as or when any issues arise with her behaviour etc. We may not need them right away but it’s nice to know we have Dan ready to help us. I could say so much more but I will end it with saying - if you need help with your crazy dog, or you want to give your new fur baby the best start in life you wont go wrong with Pup Club.read more

We joined Pip club at the end of June as we had just taken on my partners family dog called Oliver. He has always been... nervous and never walked well when he was on the lead. After some researching we found Pup club and to tell you the truth I am so glad we did. On our first session with Dan it was very positive and no judgement given when Oliver would hide or growl. He use to hate being around other dogs and often hid away from guests in our home. We are now 2 months on and honestly it’s a different dog! He wants to play more and eager to say hi to other dogs, he hides less from visitors to our home as-well! We would never of achieved this without the help of Dan and the Pup club! He spent 3 years of his life of being scared and now is so happy and care free. That’s just after 2 months! Saw Dan recommended on a Facebook group and contacted him about our new rescue. He responded exceptionally quickly and... just a day later was with us to assess behaviour with our older dog and some other behaviours that had materialised in the early days of having our new dog. He has so much knowledge and is excellent with the dog and also teaching us how to work with him ongoing. We went for the package of 5 one to one sessions and access to 28 days of classes and it's great value for money. Dan is always on hand to answer any questions and already after just one visit and one class there is a huge difference. We will be continuing to go to the classes even when the dog is fully trained. We rehomed a dog with a troubled start, with the hope of giving him the life he deserves.What we ended up was an... extremely anxious and reactive dog to everyone and everything on walks, which was becoming unbearable and really stressful for us.Pupclub helped our dog start to feel comfortable in a secure environment with dogs and people. Within a couple of months our dog is comfortable saying hello to dogs and people, going on group walks, social play and being able to experience everything a dog should be able to. Where to begin … Pup Club has been an absolute life saver for us with our 18 month old Labrador who we rescued 4 months... ago with a troubled past. We have been Pup Club members for just over two months now and the change is like having a completely different dog. The transformation from an over reactive / anxious pup who reacted to all people and dogs & excessive leash pulling (we initially spent our first session in the corner of a field due to his reactiveness) to now having a friendly boy who has made lots of doggo friends & started going on group walks and attending social play classes. The classes have been fantastic not only for our dog but for us as owners, growing our confidence and being able to meet other dog owners, some in similar situations and be apart of a community is an added benefit. We can’t thank Dan & Laura enough for all their help and support especially when we couldn’t imagine having a dog like we do 3 months ago. It’s heart warming to have trainers & other group members who are just as excited as us with our dogs progress & we can’t wait to see the progress in the coming months. Dan has always been available to answer our questions and checks in regularly to see how we’ve been getting on even outside of club! We have fostered a husky crossbreed and was a little lost in how best to help her as she was hadn’t had the best start... in life and was suffering with separation anxiety. Not only did Dan get back to me after messaging him late at night he arranged a phone call for the next day and went through and listened to what I was explaining about our dog and gave some fantastic tips and gave us the confidence to know we had made the right decision in fostering. In just a few days of following his advice and building our dogs confidence that we will be back if she is left and practising recall on a long lead our little pooch is thriving already. Tedi has really benefited from being part of the pup club. He started PupSchool at 12 weeks old and learned lots... through games and rewards. Dan and Laura were very supportive and were always on hand to help with any other issues that concerned me about my new puppy, as well as learning basic commands, socialisation and bonding.I loved the range of other activities on offer too: group walks, social play sessions, early socialisation classes and even visits to cafes and pubs to teach the pups how to settle in different environments. The initial 4 week training course has taught us and Harley so much! It’s given us so much more confidence in handling... her and understanding what it is she wants or needs, Dan has shown us how to communicate with her and understand her communication with us! We still go to the weekly social play sessions which she loves, some time for her to run around in a safe environment with her paw pals! Dan remains super supportive after the training course has ended, we had a catch up yesterday where I told him about my concerns with walking her alone because of her tendency to pull on the lead, he went through a heel exercise with me and today I walked her alone without her pulling on the lead once!read more

The Puppy training course was brilliant. We learned a lot over the four weeks and Ziggy has enjoyed the whole... experience from the training classes to the social play sessions and the group walks. He was even lucky enough to attend the Xmas party! We now have the confidence to allow Ziggy to spend time off of the lead on walks. Whatever the age of your dog, PupClub has something for everyone. When we joined pup-club for a training course 5 weeks ago, I had a 9 month old Bichon Frise who was terrified of other... dogs. She would freeze, wouldn’t walk past them and would get herself so distressed. Fast forward to today, my dog not only wags her tails at other dogs, but she approaches them and even tries to play with some of them - and I know this is only going to get better. The training course alone was brilliant - Jenna and Dan have given me so much useful and invaluable help and advice and it’s obvious how much passion they have for helping dogs and their owners. All of the social things that PupClub put on are brilliant too. Not only have I discovered new walks for my dog but I enjoy the social aspect for me too and getting to talk to other dog owners and share our stories - everyone is so friendly. We highly recommend PupClub to any dog owner! We are lucky to have bumped into Dan who introduced us to the club. We... were worried that our puppy wasn’t going to be socialised enough post lockdown and at first she was quite timid and barked at most dogs and people but since joining PupClub, our Pom has so much more confidence and enjoys playing with other dogs. The sessions are suitable for young and older dogs of all sizes. There’s group walks and play sessions in safe locations where you can let you dog run around free and have fun! Pup Club is not only for the younger dogs, we have an 11 year old lab who has rarely socialised with other dogs on a... regular basis. He took to it straight away and loves playing with all the other dogs and begging treats from owners 🙈. We have been bring our 11 month old puppy here for a week now. We have seen a huge change in Cooper since bringing him... to Pup Club, he’s been interacting with all kinds of dogs. He’s learning what play is ok and what’s not. Dan is great at providing that safe space for all the dogs and making it fun for everyone! I have a very hyper and happy 4 year old Lab, Pippa, who just loves other dogs and misses their company so much! So... when I heard about this meet up, I couldnt think of anything better for little one. Pips is pretty much flying out the car, eager to meet her new friends everyday and loving her play time. Afterwards she is however completely shattered and looks like she is still smiling in her sleep! 😆😍This club is very well organised, Dan thinks of new locations all the time in the week for the dogs and everyone is so friendly too. This has been fantastic for anyone who has a new puppy, as the difference we have all seen in the days since they have started has been really amazing with their new confidence with other dogs and with everyone who attends too.I would highly recommend this little club no matter what age or stage your dog/puppy is at, as the social interaction they get and receive will make them so happy on all levels. Pippa is normally still wanting another walk in the evenings but lately she is a lot more tired, which for me with a hyper lab, is an amazing result!read more

Social Cafe Etiquette Class
Took 1:1 consultations as well as socialisation classes for a 9 year old Patterdale mix for a month now. Trainer Dan is most helpful in showing us how to manage a dog with lots of bad habits. My dog is a lot calmer now in the presence of other dogs (bigger ones in particular).
We can see the changes and plan to continue with a schedule to ensure my dog will enjoy his outings. Thanks to some other members of the Team, Laura and Kira. They observe, stop by and offer us advice or show us how and what to do when we were "lost". Recommended.
Having adopted Dusty, a 1 1/2 year old street dog from Hungary, finding classes that would take older dogs was difficult, but Pup Club was happy to have him for basic training. Dusty fell in love with Dan and would do anything for him. Having progressed to social walks we have learnt so much. Dan and Laura have been amazingly patient and always encouraging. Dusty has loved meeting everyone. Cannot recommend them enough. Helen
My 20 month old Sprocker (Basil) was slightly reactive and nervous around other dogs when on his lead. In just 2 weeks at pup club, his confidence has improved thanks to Dan and his team. They facilitated Basil to say hello to other dogs and to keep calm. His modelling of how to do this has been an incredible help for me in developing my confidence. Everyone at the club has been very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend joining pup club. If you are on the cusp of thinking of contacting the club my advice would be just do it - you won't regret doing so.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
There is no need to attend daily to gain amazing progress. We have seen the most progress is made by those attending at least 2 or 3 times per week. Having classes available everyday allows us to provide support whenever or if ever an issue arises.
YES! We highly recommend bringing as many from the house hold as possible so everyone knows how to communicate best with your dog.
Yes we do allow children to attend HOWEVER we request they are to interact ONLY with their own dogs and nobody else’s. We also request that no children are to run before, during or after class times around the dogs. Some dogs attending will require space and may be reactive if pushed.
First off, your dog! Accompanied with lots of tasty treats as we’ll be using food for rewards! A lead, collar and harness. 10m long line if you have one (we have plenty of spares to borrow). 2 of your dog’s favourite toys if they are not super motivated by food. Poop bags, water and water bowl.
